A center speaker plays a crucial role in any multichannel system, as it reproduces the majority of a movie’s dialogue. The Classic Center is designed with the same precision and attention to detail as all Audio Physic speakers, ensuring unmatched clarity, depth, and spatial accuracy.

Innovative Cabinet Construction

The Classic Center features a glass-sandwich cabinet, an innovative construction that eliminates unwanted vibrations and resonances. The additional weight of the glass panels further enhances the damping properties, resulting in a cleaner, more natural sound reproduction.

2½-Way Design for Exceptional Audio Performance

Borrowing technology from the esteemed Classic 15, the Classic Center features a 2½-way design, where the mid-woofer covers a broad frequency range while receiving additional support from a dedicated woofer. This combination ensures deep, impactful bass, making dialogues and sound effects more immersive.

Both the midrange and woofer use woven glass fibre cones, a material known for its low weight and high internal damping. This construction prevents unwanted oscillations, preserving audio integrity. The mid-woofer also incorporates a fixed phase plug that enhances cooling and minimizes compression effects in the midrange, ensuring lifelike sound reproduction.

High-Performance Tweeter for a Wide Soundstage

Nestled between the mid-woofer and woofer is a 22mm silk dome tweeter, capable of extending beyond the audible range with pristine clarity. It is positioned within a horn-shaped indentation, optimizing sound dispersion and ensuring a wide, balanced soundstage. Even if listeners are seated outside the optimal listening area, dialogue remains clear and precise.

Advanced Bass Reflex System

Rather than using a conventional bass reflex port, the Classic Center employs Audio Physic’s unique cabinet resonance technology, which directs low frequencies through the sandwich layers of the cabinet. This eliminates port noise (chuffing) and delivers distortion-free bass, even at high volumes.

Premium Components and Build Quality

Every component in the Classic Center is selected for performance and durability. It features high-end WBT nextgen® binding posts, which are resistant to eddy currents and come with a torque indicator for optimal tightening. The speaker also includes an open front cover made from glass, matching the sleek and elegant cabinet design.

For optimal performance, the Classic Center can be paired with Audio Physic’s Vibration Control Feet (VCF II PLUS COMPONENT), which further isolates the speaker from external vibrations, enhancing clarity and dynamic response.
